MEET LYNNE
Lynne Garvey-Hodge is a seasoned worship/ceremony leader. Her compassion, faith and the belief in the power of the human spirit will ensure your Life-Cycle ceremony matches your heart, soul, and beliefs. Your personal hopes, dreams and memories will be personalized in a meaningful, sacred service – reflecting any ethnic traditions you may wish to incorporate. Lynne has led End of Life, House Blessings and Celebration of Life events as well as community Inter-faith events *. Lynne’s passion for honoring each and every individual’s life and relationships, result in ceremonies that are customized, creative and sacred. Her ability to support a decedent’s grieving family and friends, with empathy, compassion, strength and support is without exception. Lynne is highly adept at orchestrating a religious, non-religious ceremony or a Celebration of Life Event. Lynne says, “It is always an honor and a privilege to work with family and friends as they seek to memorialize their loved one(s) in a beautiful, sacred, meaningful service filled with respect and honor for all.”
Lynne’s formal training includes a Masters in Theological Studies, with a focus on Pastoral Counseling from Wesley Theological Seminary as well as a recently completed rigorous certification program at the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, Montclair, New Jersey. (where she was nominated by both peers and faculty to speak at her graduation ceremony). In her role as Life-Cycle Celebrant, she does not lean into or promote her own religious practices. She is accepting of all people, of all faiths. She is an on-call support professional for the Capital Caring Hospice association, serving as back-up to their on-duty Chaplain.
